TRAINING

64-hour comprehensive training - VendTech has developed a comprehensive 64-hour security forces training program that seamlessly supplements the DHS Security Guard Information Manual (SGIM) and is approved training material by the Federal Protective Service. We are also available to provide additional training videos, live exercises, and certified instructors and facilities anywhere in the U.S. and can provide condensed refresher and semi-annual training.

First-Aid/CPR/AED - All security guards and protective officers are required to receive some form of first response training and certification validated by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association in accordance with state and local requirements.

Firearms (Multiple Weapons Systems) - Armed guard requirements require extensive training and knowledge. Program content includes firearms nomenclature, maintenance, safety, and handling, firearms familiarization practice fire and qualification and certification to the course of fire requirements of any organization's specifications.

Intermediate Weapons - These non-lethal weapons offer a significant deterrent in the hands of knowledgeable, trained individuals. Systems include:

  • OC

  • Expandable Baton

  • Handcuffs

Security Systems -These system training requirements include pre-post deployment, on-the-job training, and post-deployment training to ensure personnel are fully able to operate, monitor, and assess the functionality of these operations. Such systems can include but are not limited to:

  • Access Controls (Gates, Card-Swipe Entry)

  • Utility Controls (Thermostat, Boiler, Fire Sprinkler, Lights, Generators)

  • CCTV

  • IDS

  • Magnetometer/X-ray etc

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY

Policy - VendTech Enterprise is committed to ensuring that all Security Guard Service (SGS) activities and operations are conducted in a safe and environmentally sound manner in accordance with all local, state, and federal standards, policies, procedures, and practices. Our ES&H plan describes the SGS safety program which is implemented to fulfill the commitment of providing a safe and healthful work-site for all employees including the facilities, personnel, and other persons under VendTech's protective jurisdiction on any contract services.

ES&H Organization - The structure of the VendTech organization and the personnel assignments are illustrated to provide the right mix of oversight to operations. The specific responsibilities of each member of the organization are outlined in the ES&H hierarchy. The Project Manager has primary responsibility for all safety aspects of SGS activities however; implementation of this environmental safety and health plan will be contingent upon the commitment of all VendTech personnel.

Stop-Work Authority - Upon proper evaluation of the hazards that could be encountered during operation activities on any contract site the Project Manager/Safety Representative, Assistant Project Manager, or Site Supervision/Safety Support shall designate in writing those personnel with authority to initiate a "stop-work order". Implementation of a stop-work order shall not authorize any personnel to abandon post or discontinue work but only to follow the appropriate communication protocols to alert management to the inherent circumstances constituting such an order. IAW with the Facility ES&H Manual, every employee, subcontractor, and user may have the expressed authority and responsibility to stop work for conditions that pose imminent hazard or danger.

VendTech personnel shall also accept and respond immediately to directions from delegated authorities to cease activity or condition that is deemed unsafe, and shall immediately observe the proper communication protocols, resulting in notification of the appropriate personnel anytime work is stopped under the above-described conditions.

Standard Procedures

  • Substance Abuse - VendTech Enterprise, LLC, is committed to providing a safe work environment and to fostering the well-being and health of its employees. That commitment is jeopardized should any Vend-Tech Enterprise, LLC, employee illegally use drugs or alcohol on the job, come to work with these substances present in his/her body, or should possess, distribute, or sell drugs in the workplace. Therefore, VendTech Enterprise has established the following policy: It’s a violation of company policy for any employee to possess, sell, trade, or offer for sale illegal drugs or otherwise engage in the illegal use of drugs or alcohol on the job. It is a violation of company policy for anyone to report to work under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol, that is, with illegal drugs or alcohol in his/her body. It is a violation of the company policy for anyone to use prescription drugs illegally.

  • Job Hazard Analysis (Activity Hazard Analysis) - Each contract possesses inherent and recognized safety and health hazards. VendTech then conducts additional Job Hazard Analysis at contract sites to identify any potential risks relevant to the environment and nature of services to be provided. At a minimum the AHA shall include the following processes and procedures: Employee Involvement, Accident History Review, Preliminary Job Review, Hazardous Job Prioritization, and Outlining of Tasks.

  • Safety & Health Training - VendTech recognizes training as one the most vital tools necessary to ensure a safe and healthy environment at contract sites. To that end, VendTech will development, implement, and thoroughly manage the entire process of training including qualified trainers, materials, equipment, and facilities, as necessary to accomplish this goal from pre-assignment to orientations, and refresher training. Appropriate safety training for optimum SGS performance shall be focused on two (2) training regiments, Contract Site-Specific Training, and VendTech SHIELD Training.

  • Hazard Communications Plan - VendTech, through continuous process development and implementation maintains a written record of hazard communication plans IAW with OSHA Hazard Communication Standards as outlined by 29 CFR 1910.1200 and 29 CFR 1926.59 including:

    • Labels and Hazard Warnings

    • Material Safety Data Sheets

    • Employee Health Information

    • Training Standards

  • Emergency Response Plan -Emergency Response planning is a part of the overall VendTech Enterprise Environmental Safety & Health Manual. It is a complement to the campus emergency operation plan and procedures currently practiced at every contract site, and it is intended to be used in implementing the procedures outlined in that plan. QUALITY
CONTROL

Program Overview - VendTech's Quality Control Plan (QCP) outlines the policing missions aimed at preventing and reducing breaches of contractual parameters set forth by the client and ensuring that the service levels required throughout the contract term are met. The QCP also provides the client and company a proactive approach to avoid unacceptable or deficient performance, and further supply verifiable input for any subsequent performance evaluations. This program is structured around three major aspects, including:

  • Regulatory Supervision - examination of all applicable licenses, permits, laws and statutes necessary to perform services.

  • Monitoring - examination of reports provided by the Quality Control Manager (QCM), external quality assurance bodies, and additional analysis of operating procedures issued by the client and or the facility management itself.

  • Provisions of Information - All such reports or observations for the client, facility operators, and contract management. These compliance checks aim at ensuring that the contractor's controls reduce site risks and improve the protection, health, and safety of all persons within and in proximity of the facility assets.

Performance Standards - Describes the Types, Levels, Frequency, and Management Responsiveness necessary to develop and maintain a comprehensive and transparent QC process.

Evaluation Methods - The methods of evaluation detail the exact techniques used to administer quality oversight and are the vehicles from implementing the performance standards. Methods include:

  • Service Level Monitoring - assessments of the contractor's performance ascertained through multiple resources i.e. customer feedback, visitors, guard service personnel, etc.

  • Certifications - preparation, filing, and maintenance of documentation to support the completion of required trainings, permits, and licenses.

  • Visual Inspections - actual inspections performed by QC personnel and management to verify proper procedures are followed in regards to post policies, uniform and appearance standards, attendance and reporting documentation, possession of all necessary permits and licenses.

  • Quizzes - administering quizzes aimed at testing knowledge and adherence to post orders, duty book requirements, operation procedures as well as general facility/client information.

  • Safety Precautions - overall maintenance of an environment in accordance with the ES&H plan established by the client and the contractor in accordance with all OSHA requirements.

Measures - Developed through a line-by-line construction of each contract requirement, measures outline the Performance Objective and the actual Performance Measures used to quantify and qualify the inspection process.

Inspection Methods - Inspections are based upon the standards of quality outlined in the performance measures and are matched to the appropriate evaluation applications.

Employee Rewards & Incentives Program - VendTech maintains a star rewards and incentives program as a means to effectively and continuously improve contract performance, manage employee behavior, as well as demonstrate company appreciation for its employees. This program includes an aggregate point system incorporating evaluations, inspections data, and management information and awards and recognition based on employee workplace factors.

Disciplinary Actions & Procedures - All VendTech employees are subject to company discipline policies and procedures. These policies, in nature, are used to guide the systematic instruction of employees as well as enforce adherence to the codes of conduct and establish workplace order, health, and safety. Such measures are used in accordance with contract requirements, CBA (where applicable), and employ the use of both positive and negative reinforcements.
